Dance Shoe Size Guides

Dance shoe sizes vary between brands and between styles within the same brand. Ballet shoes in particular are not sized to standard street shoe measurements — the soft leather stretches to fit snugly around the foot, so the correct fit is typically smaller than you expect. Use the brand-specific guides below before ordering. If you have a query, contact us before placing your order.

How to Measure Your Foot

You will need a piece of A4 paper, a pencil and a ruler or measuring tape. Place your foot flat in the middle of the paper. Press the pencil firmly at 90 degrees against the back of your heel and draw a horizontal line. Do the same at the front of your longest toe. Measure the distance between the two lines in centimetres. Be as accurate as possible — dance shoe sizes can vary by as little as 5mm and ballet shoes by as little as 2mm.

If you are buying shoes for growing feet, select a shoe at least 1cm to 1.5cm longer than the current foot measurement. Wide feet may also require extra length.
