Convertible dance tights with a hole under the sole

Convertible tights are the most practical tight a dancer can own. One pair covers class, rehearsal and costume changes without needing to swap. Wear them fully footed for ballet, roll the foot opening up for contemporary or bare-foot work, or slip a ballet shoe through the opening without removing the tight. How convertible dance tights work

Convertible tights have a small opening at the bottom of the foot. Worn with the foot inside, they function exactly like a footed tight, giving full coverage and the clean line expected for ballet class and performance. When the foot is pushed through the opening, the tight rolls to sit above the ankle, freeing the foot for contemporary, lyrical and bare-foot work without the tight needing to be removed. This makes them the first choice for dancers who move between styles in the same session or need to change quickly between numbers backstage.

Colours, fit and durability

Convertible dance tights are available in ballet pink, tan, skin tone and black, covering class uniform requirements and performance colours across the full range of girls and womens sizes. Dance Direct selects for fabric weight, stretch recovery and seam placement that holds the tight in position through an entire class without rolling, sagging or wearing through at the heel.
